Dr. Vijeta Salunkhe, MBBS, MBA, MHA, CCS, CCDS
Dr. Vijeta Salunkhe is a Clinical Documentation Improvement Manager at Baylor Scott and White McLane Children’s, Temple Texas. Dr. Salunkhe completed her medical school from Grant Medical College, Mumbai and graduated with dual Master’s degree in Healthcare administration and business administration from University of Houston Clear Lake with Beta Gamma Sigma International Honorary membership. She is CCS and CCDS certified by AHIMA and ACDIS respectively. Dr. Salunkhe has extensive experience in healthcare industry working as a manager, CDI reviewer and physician. At Baylor Scott and White, she acts as a physician advisor for Clinical documentation accuracy program and educates physicians. She pioneered the integration of quality outcomes measures such as mortality and readmission in CDI workflows via data analytics and refined data process. She has led ICD 10 physician education efforts across the system, designed queries for the system and developed Electronic Health Record templates. In addition to this, Vijeta reviews patient medical records and acts as a liaison for utilization management and case management team. She is skilled in physician-executive relationships, clinical documentation improvement, ICD 10 and coding operations, healthcare administration, technology, business process improvement, health information management, strategic planning, utilization management and revenue management.
Dr. Salunkhe is currently selected by the US News and World Report as an expert on the panel to develop recommendations for refinements of the 2018-2019 Best Children’s Hospital rankings! In addition to this she is also serving as a leader for Texas ACDIS chapter with the leadership team and helping ACDIS committee to expand the chapter.

A $25.00 cancellation fee will be retained by TxHIMA for cancellations received prior to the registration date.
