The TxHIMA Education Committee would like to invite you to submit a presentation to help define the breakout sessions and pre-conference workshops for the 2025 TxHIMA Annual Conference.

Collaboration and sharing are at the heart of any successful education program. With that in mind, TxHIMA would like to encourage you to present a breakout session and/or pre-conference workshop at the upcoming TxHIMA Annual Conference. Presenting a breakout session or pre-conference workshop at the Annual Conference provides you with an excellent opportunity to share your knowledge, experience, and outcomes with other interested health information management professionals. The breakout sessions allow for a more in-depth review and presentation of specific focus areas.

TxHIMA is looking for presentations focused on these topics
  • Preconference Sessions (3 or 6 Hour Sessions)
    • Education Based Topics
      The TxHIMA conference covers a range of education-based topics aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of professionals in the field. Key topics include the integration of advanced technologies like AI and machine learning in health information systems, strategies for ensuring data privacy and security, and the importance of accurate data management for improving patient outcomes. Additionally, the conference addresses the evolving role of HIM professionals in the healthcare industry, emphasizing continuous education and professional development to keep pace with technological advancements and regulatory changes.
    • Coding Round Tables
      TxHIMA Coding Roundtable should feature relevant coding topics such as upcoming coding guideline changes, ICD and CPT code updates, ICD-11, SDOH, top coding denials and coding trends, HCC Management-Risk Adjustment coding and Evaluation and Management coding.
    • Leadership Development
      Within the Health Information Management (HIM) field. We are looking for expert insights on key leadership elements, including strategic decision-making, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, team building, and driving organizational change. Presentations may also cover topics like innovative leadership approaches, mentoring future leaders, and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability within HIM teams.
    • Student Academy
      Event designed to guide, and inspire the next generation of Health Information Management (HIM) professionals. We invite proposals that focus on essential skills for students, such as career development, navigating the HIM job market, effective communication, professional networking, and mastering emerging technologies in healthcare. Presentations may also cover topics like the transition from academic learning to professional practice, leadership for early-career professionals, and insights into the future of the HIM field.
