Call for Abstracts!

TxHIMA 2018 Annual Convention:
Keep HIM Wired
June 24-26, 2018
Austin, Texas

The TxHIMA Education Committee is soliciting abstracts from the TxHIMA membership to help define the breakout sessions and pre-convention workshops for the 2018 TxHIMA Annual Convention that will be held at the Sheraton Austin at the Capitol in Austin, Texas. This year's theme is: Keep HIM Wired.

Collaboration and sharing is at the heart of any successful education program. With that in mind, TxHIMA would like to encourage you to present a breakout session and/or pre-convention workshop at the upcoming TxHIMA Annual Convention. Presenting a breakout session or pre-convention workshop at the Annual Convention provides you with an excellent opportunity to share your knowledge, experience and outcomes with other interested health information management professionals. The breakout sessions allow for a more in-depth review and presentation of specific focus areas.

Suggested topics for abstracts include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Accountable Care Organizations
  • Clinical Documentation Improvement
  • Clinical Classifications and Coding
  • Data Analytics
  • Data and Interoperability Standards
  • Data and Information Governance
  • EHRs
  • Emerging Issues
  • Emerging Technologies
  • Health Information Exchange
  • HIM Professional Competencies and Workforce Development
  • Informatics
  • Leadership
  • Physician Practice
  • Performance Improvement
  • Post-Acute and Long-Term Care
  • Population Health
  • Public Policy and Advocacy

Each breakout session will be 55 minutes: 45 minutes of prepared presentation and 10 minutes for questions. Pre-Convention Workshops will be in 3 hour sessions or 6 hour sessions. You may present individually, or as a group.
