Introduction
Padre Behavioral Hospital is a free standing 68 bed
psychiatric hospital with inpatient and outpatient programs,
located on 15 acres in Corpus Christi, Texas. The HIM
director will have an active role on the executive
management team to ensure individualized, patient-centered
health care for all patient populations admitted to our
programs.
This position is with Padre Behavioral Hospital, an
affiliate of Continuum Healthcare, LLC. Continuum Healthcare
is a growing corporation specializing in behavioral
healthcare in Texas, Tennessee and Florida. Continuum
Healthcare is composed of acute psychiatric hospitals,
residential treatment facilities, partial hospitalization
programs, intensive out patient programs, home health
(behavioral & medical), and clinical services to aggregate
care facilities.
Experience
Minimum three years of experience in medical records
required, five years desired. Knowledge of JCAHO, CMS, HIPAA
and other regulatory agencies.
a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or
coursework in an approved Technician (RHIT) required.
Degree in Health Information Management desired.
Associate or Bachelors Degree Completed educational program
for a Registered Health Information

Job Description

and Florida. We are composed of acute psychiatric
hospitals, partial hospitalization programs, intensive out
patient programs, home health (behavioral & medical), and
clinical services to aggregate care facilities
This position
is located in our Hornwood Community Health Center located
in Southwest Houston, and will report directly to the
facility administrator. This position will have an active
role on the executive management team to ensure
individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient
populations admitted to our programs.
Job Description
The Health
Information Management Manager supervises the
operations, activities, and employees in the department.
The Manager is responsible for the maintenance and care of
all medical records and for review and analysis of all
medical records to ensure internal consistency and
completeness. The manager is actively involved in
departmental and facility.
Supervision: Directs the functions and staff
of the H.I.M. department.
Experience: Minimum three years
of experience in medical records required five years
desired. Knowledge of JCAHO, CARF, CMS, HIPAA and other
regulatory agencies.
Education: Associate or Bachelor
Completed coursework in an approved
educational program for a Registered Health Information
Administrator (RHIA) or a Registered Health Information
Technician (RHIT) required.
Degree in Health Information Management
desired.
Licensure/Certification: Must be
registered with the American Health Information Management
Association.
