Twenty-five students (limit five student volunteers per school at this time) are needed to assist with pre-convention tasks, convention registration, registration desk support, session room monitoring, Hospitality/Silent Auction, Exhibit Hall and that always-essential “and other assignments as designated by” the Student Volunteer Coordinator.

A student must commit to a minimum of two full days of service. Each student volunteer will have their Convention registration fee paid by TxHIMA and the student shall receive the benefits of paid attendees depending upon the volunteer’s schedule. Volunteers will be selected on a first come first served basis. There is a 3 student limit per school. Students must email me separately.

Travel, lodging, and parking are the students’ responsibility. Students are included in meals provided to convention attendees.

There will be a Volunteer Orientation and a task to be performed, June 26, Sunday, time to be determined. All accepted volunteers will be honored at the Volunteer Brunch, Monday, June 27 @ 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. There is no charge but students must RSVP.

The Student Academy on Sunday, June 26, is free to our Student volunteers but seating is limited. Registration for this must be done after receiving notification of volunteer selection.

Students will be able to attend sessions, network with health information professionals and other students as well as visit the Exhibit Hall and Silent Auction between volunteer duties. Volunteerism in the Health Information arena can be a part of a student’s resume.
